Hair Treatment


Almost 70% male and 50% female by the age 50 have hair fall problem in current time. As this problem is growing, scientists, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies are looking for the best hair treatment. The situation is definitely better and changed in the last 20 years, but hair treatment is still far below the ideal treatment. Except for hair transplant, none of the treatment is permanent in nature. They will help a patient only till they use them. Current medicines
Two FDA approved medicines are available. Minoxidil and finasteride. Minoxidil is helpful for both male and female while finasteride is used by male only. Along with these medicines, multivitamins are also used to help with the deficiency of any vitamin.
The best result is achieved in 4 to 5 months. They do not regrow new hair but thicken the thin hair. These medicines are helpful until the time the patient uses them. Effect reversed in 3 to 6 months after stopping the treatment.
Current procedures
Few procedures are available for hair treatment.
Best among them is PRP or (Platelets rich plasma). In this treatment, our own blood is taken, processed and then separated plasma with many times platelets are injected in the scalp. This method is safe and easily available. PRP can be done routinely. No side effect is known. This is Result oriented treatment. This helps hair growth, keeps hair healthy and thin hair gets thicker.
Derma roller
Derma roller is a technique where a roller with 192 needles is rolled over the bald area. This cause intentional injury, which in turn attract growth factor, these growth factor help in hair loss and thicken the thin hair. With other treatments like minoxidil and PRP, it is effective.
Low level laser 
Certain frequency laser is used to activate the root of the hair. It is easy to use. Although not as effective as PRP, but still helpful. This can be used at home.
A hair transplant is the best of all treatment. It is permanent and very effective. Now many hair transplant technique is available where safe hair from one part of the body is extracted with root and implanted in the bald area.
Future treatment
Many scientists and companies are working on a new treatment for hair based on the new mechanism of medicines and also stem cell. Cloning and other mechanisms. Let's wait and watch for better treatment and medicines. Till that time keep using existing treatment and help yourself.
